Just a 15-minute walk from Mall of Asia, Hotel 101 Manila is one of the hotels that we can spot within the area. For me, I would highly recommend staying at this place because its not just the accessible location plus also the good service, the room features and the overall hotel experience is highly commendable.
Hotel 101 Manila is located along EDSA Extension, just in front of Blue Wave at Pasay City. The hotel's main entrance is a bit hidden from the highway. If you see the 7-11 Convenience Store plus the Amico Restaurant, just walk until you see a car passage area with security guards and they will point the hotel's main entrance.
Room Features
I stayed at their Happy Room (for two). The said room has a queen size bed and a single bed. Check-in time is 2:00 PM and check-out time is 12:00 PM. Take note that there's an incidental deposit of Php 1,000. They will give you a receipt so be sure to keep it so you can claim the money on check out time.

Surprisingly, the room is spacious and I didn't expect it to be this good. Lights are plenty and bright and the windows are wide.
There's a kitchen area inside the room. There are cabinets where you can keep your things or you food. There's a small sink, a mini refrigerator (with a small ice cube tray) and a microwave oven. Bottled water, tea and coffee for two and a dessert snack are complimentaries. There are snacks and alcoholic drinks available in your room with additional charge.
If you plan to go outside your room, there's a working safety deposit box. You don't need to worry about charging your devices because there are plenty of plug sockets available.
Toiletries are complete and good for two people such as dental kit, shaving kit, vanity kit plus the soap, shampoo, lotion and conditioner. If you are in need of using a blower, it's also available at the bathroom.
The bathroom is a bit small especially the shower area. But I don't mind it that much since it is well-maintained. There's a heater available for the bathroom faucets and the telephone shower.
The WI-FI connection is very good and stable. I am still connected to the WI-FI when I'm at the pool area and at the restaurant area.
The television is huge. But since the channel reception is not that good, you may not appreciate the size that much. There's also a small desk and a chair at the window area.

There's a pool area located at the second floor of the hotel. The bigger pool is up to 5 feet in depth only but this pool is wide. There's a kiddie pool for the kids and relaxing Jacuzzi. The disadvantage of having the Jacuzzi and the kiddie pool place beside each other is that the kids have the tendency of jumping around between the pools.
Shower area is also available. The staff will provide you towers to use within the pool area. Be sure to wear proper swimming attire and do take note that they are closing the pool area if there's a heavy rain and thunderstorm. Also, there's no lifeguard available but there are staffs which are on standby within the area. Be sure to read the pool area mandatories located at the pool area entrance.

If your stay has a free breakfast included, you can enjoy a breakfast buffet at Amico Restaurant at the lobby. During my stay, there are sausages, egg omelette, hash browns, bread, garlic and plain rice and other dishes to choose from. Coffee, juices, cereals, fresh fruits and yogurts are also available. The choices might be limited but I can't complain on anything since the food is good.

Tip: If you are looking for other food varieties, just cross the street and explore Blue Wave! There are plenty of restaurants within the area. Or if you are on a budget, 7-11 Convenience store is at the lobby. Or just walk for 2-5 minutes and you'll arrive at Jollibee (just beside the hotel).
Experience
I didn't expect this hotel to have this kind of room. For its price, I spent an overnight to a very relaxing room. The ambiance inside is great, the beds and pillows are comfortable, everything about the place is clean plus the lightings are excellent. Here are some of the things happened during my stay:
- During the afternoon, heavy rains with thunderstorm occurred and because of that, they closed the pool area. They opened it once the weather is already clear.
- Since I decided to have a night swim, I didn't appreciate it that much because of the noise of the ongoing building construction nearby. Good thing that you can't hear the noise inside the room.
- You can't hang your long clothes at the closet since the length is too short.
- There's only one chair available. Good thing the desk was placed near the single bed and you can sit on the edge while the other one will sit on the chair (laughs).
- There's a staff who knocked at around 9:00 AM. I was happy he did because he gave another batch of free complimentary water.
- The staffs are nice and wearing their smiles. The receptionists properly assisted me as I check-in and also when I check-out.
I decided to book at Hotel 101 Manila because its near to SMX Convention Center where Toycon 2017 held. Aside from that, I used Travelbook.ph Mobile App to book and its hassle-free so far.
I would definitely visit Hotel 101 Manila and stay again especially when we need a place to stay if we have an event. Or should I say, the hotel is also great for a staycation getaway at the heart of Manila. Location wise, price and cleanliness - for a three-star hotel with a five-star experience, Hotel 101 Manila is a gem.
