Spotted at Pasay City is a Japanese restaurant whose main delicacies are their special Ramen! Who would have thought that with their large sizes and different variety of Ramen, a Japanese noodle dish, Ramen Metro offers these dishes at affordable prices without sacrificing the taste and quality. I had a chance to try their dishes and indeed for me, Ramen Metro is one of the place to visit to satisfy my ramen cravings.
The Place
Ramen Metro is located at Bluebay Walk, Pasay City, along Diosdado Macapagal going to Mall of Asia. Very accessible place although for me, the restaurant is actually small. It can fit around 20-30 people inside. Even the place is small, the ambiance is good especially the lightings and the walls on which you can see the famous Japanese locations.
The Food
Ramen Metro offers different Japanese dishes - from bento dishes, sushi, gyoza, and their ramen. I had a chance to try their ramen dishes and I'll be listing my top favorite noodle dish:
Mabo Ramen
Mabo Ramen (Php 375.00) - You can't go wrong with some soft tofu cube slices topped on a ramen with very rich soup flavor. I love the blend of the soup because it is something new for my taste. It has a small kick of spiciness, fresh veggies, pork slices and as I mentioned, the tofu slices.
Metro Tantanmen
Metro Tantanmen (Php 375.00) - A ramen dish exclusive for Ramen Metro prepared by the chef. Its a combination of pork broth with miso, with a kick of spiciness and topped with fresh veggies, pork slices, and mushrooms mushrooms. If you are up for some right blend of spiciness, I highly recommend this dish to try.
Black Ramen
Black Ramen (Php 350.00) - Are you up for some ramen with black noodles? This black ramen is a must try! At first I actually thought that its the same noodles dish as what Naruto Uzumaki (from the Japanese Anime Naruto) because of the dish presentation except that the noodles is actually black. Topped with boiled egg, mushrooms, veggies and pork slices.
Tonkutsu Metro Ramen
Tonkutsu Metro Ramen (Php 375.00) - This dish is my most favorite among all. For me, the pork slices for this dish is very different compared to others. It is very flavorful and tender at the same time. It has toppings same as the black ramen but with added Nori (seaweed sheet) which is surprisingly added a kick to the soup. I fell in love with this dish at my first try.
Tip: Be sure to pair the ramen dishes with some gyoza!
The Price
Comparing to some of the restaurants that I tried so far who is also specialized in serving ramen dishes, Ramen Metro for me is one of the affordable so far. Affordable in terms of the serving size, the taste and the quality - it is suitable with the price.
Verdict: 4.5 / 5.0
This rainy season, having some ramen to warm us up is a perfect choice! Be sure to visit Ramen Metro and try their dishes. I can't wait to bring my cosplay friends here!
