Hotel Review: Hotel SOGO Buendia

I often attend events especially expos at World Trade Center and at SMX Convention Center. And because these events ends at evening, I am having a hard time travelling back to our home because of the rush of people. Good thing there's a hotel with a quite cheap rates where I can spend the night. I recently had my stay at Hotel SOGO at Buendia, Makati City and it was great.

Hotel SOGO Buendia is located along Taft Avenue at Gil Puyat, Makati City. Very accesible to Gil Puyat Station of LRT 1, bus stations going to Cavite and Laguna, plus jeepneys and buses going to EDSA. They have a high ceiling and spacious lobby though their elevator is quite small.

Room Features

It was actually my first time staying at that hotel after my coverage at the last gaming event at World Trade Center. I decided to stay at their Regency 2 Room and I laughed at the fact that I could even bring my relatives here because it has 2 beds inside. But anyway, here are some of the room features at Regency 2:

It has a dining area with 2 seats.

Flat screen TV facing the 2 beds, closet with working safety vault inside.

They will give you two boxes of personal care kit because the room can accommodate 3-4 people inside. Each box contains: 1 sachet of toothpaste and shampoo, a pair of tooth brush and a plastic comb. The room has 2 towels and 1 blanket though.

It has a small bath tub and shower inside with hot and cold water functions.

The room has 2 beds: one twin-sized bed and one single in size.

Experience

As I mentioned above, it was my first time to stay at this Hotel SOGO branch. I am happy because their staffs are very friendly compared to other branches I stayed so far. Though their rates are quite higher compared to other branches, I presume it is because the hotel lies at the business district of Makati plus its strategic location which is accessible to means of transportation. Here are some of my experiences here at Hotel SOGO Buendia:

The elevator is quite small but it has an elevator staff to assist customers even though the building is just a 6 floor high. It has a hanging wall fan too but I just laughed after seeing it. It might not look good in the eyes but it helps everyone to feel at ease and reduce the heat inside.
I opened the door at the closet area to find out that there is a used rug inside.
I am impressed with the sanitation at this room, especially at the bathroom. Though the toilet bowl's flush is a bit broke, the bath tub area is well-cleaned.
I hope they have a remote for their air conditioner since I need to turn off the whole thing by turning off the aircon switch at the button dashboard when I feel that its too cold inside already.

Verdict: 4.0 / 5.0

All in all, I must say that my stay here at Hotel SOGO Buendia is great. I guess these small flaws are just normal since of course, they are not a five-star hotel. If you need a place to stay around Makati and you have a budget, you might want to consider staying here. Thanks a lot for reading and see you on my next review!
