Aftermath: What the Hack?! Cyber Security Summit 2015

Another 2-day summit was held successfully last July 2 and 3, 2015. What the Hack?! Cyber Security Summit 2015 was a blast and gave students and professionals a chance of getting to know more about cyber security from the basics to the advanced methods and techniques.

What the Hack?! Cyber Security Summit
2015 was held at Tanghalang Pasigueno, Pasig City. Together with GlobalKnowledge PH Inc and PMCM Events Management, the said event is a 2-day summit that covered topics about cyber security. Speakers from different sectors had been gathered to talk about different topics from the cybercrime law to different demonstrations.

Day 1 covered topics from different governments sectors and professionals where participants are gathered to listen to each speaker:
  • Cybercrime Law in the Philippines with speaker Jed Sherwin Uy from Department of Justice
  • Cyber Security: A Team Effort with speaker Joey Fontiveros from Phippine Army
  • Proposal for National Cyber Security Strategy with speaker Francisco Ashley Acedillo
  • The Mind of the Black Hat with speaker Dennis Sanchez
  • Database and OS Hacking with Benjie Zamora from HP

Day 2 covered topics from professionals about the basics of hacking, computer virus and malwares. Participants were requested to bring their personal laptops for hands-on exercises. At afternoon, Hacker Games Asia 2015 has been also held. Here are the topics discussed for the second day of the summit:

  • SSL Man in the Middle Attack with speaker John Patrick Rita
  • Raspberry Pi Demo with speaker Heremias Esquibal
  • WiFi Pinapple Demo with speaker Dennis Sanchez

Each participants of the 2-day summit received certificate of attendance. The whole event had been successful despite of the heavy traffic due to Pasig Day celebration last July 2. Attendees were attentively listened to different topics especially on different demos and tips about hacking and cyber security issues.
