Food Review: Cab Café

A place to enjoy your favorite local delicacies located at the heart of Kapitolyo, Pasig City. Alongside with other restaurants around the vicinity, Cab Café stands out with their delicious Bacolod-inspired dishes plus tasteful desserts.

Cab Café is located at East Capitol Drive, Pasig City. The restaurant is owned by Mark Magalona, one of the cousins of Francis Magalona. It has a very cozy ambiance that lights up your dining experience, surrounded with attentive staffs. Cab Café has been a pioneer in serving delicious dishes for 50 years and started at Bacolod with the name of Café Bob’s and Bob’s Restaurant. They currently have 2 branches here in Manila and one of them is located at Cubao, Quezon City.

 

Must-try dishes here at Cab Café are their light meals and especially their very delicious desserts. Aside from the dishes and desserts, they also sell home-made frozen goods like sausages. They also serve local beer which is I personally enjoy. With that, here are some of their available dishes here:

 

Country Sausage Platter

 
Country Sausage Platter – Enjoy their home-made sausage (with more on its peppery taste) plus slices of bread in a platter, perfect for appetizer.

 

Chorizo Negrense

 
Chorizo Negrense – Flavorful chorizo with eggs, fried rice and atchara to enjoy. A perfect dish for breakfast! Enjoy this dish with their vinegar.

 

Batchoy Bacolod

 

Batchoy Bacolod – A local soup delicacy to warm you up. Delicious Bacolod-inspired La Paz Batchoy with slices of meat, raw egg, onion chives with a very distinct flavor of chicharon.

 

Pizza Alfredo

 
Pizza Alfredo – Thin but soft pizza topped with plenty of Parmesan cheese, mushrooms and meat. This pizza dish is absolutely yummy.

 

Pinoy Deli Pasta

 

Pinoy Deli Pasta – Looking for something unique pasta flavor? Avail this Pinoy Deli Pasta, with more on its fresh tomato taste rather than the usual Pinoy (sweet) taste with added salted egg and topped with Parmesan cheese.

 

Pesto Pasta

 
Pesto Pasta – Topped with lots of Parmesan cheese, this pesto pasta is also one of their must-try pasta dish. It has the exact flavor of the sauce, not to salty and not bland. Enjoy this dish together with slices of bread.

 

Sate Babe

 

Sate Babe – 2 sticks of marinated pork meat with distinguishable peanut butter taste on its sauce. Enjoy this dish with a cup of java rice and atchara on side.

 

Mango Pavlova

 
Mango Pavlova – A heavenly dessert! Very soft sponge cake with mango slices, whipped cream and almonds to add crisps. Very yummy and indeed a must-try! This Mango Pavlova is their best-seller in-line with their desserts.

 

Blueberry Cheesecake

 

Blueberry Cheesecake – thick slice of Blueberry Cheesecake for cheesecake fans. The taste for me is more focus on the cheesecake side that overpowers the flavor of the blueberry.

 

White Chocolate Cheesecake

 
White Chocolate Cheesecake – One of the must-try dessert here at Cab Café. If you are a fan of cheesecake, try their white chocolate cheesecake. Cheesecake topped with white chocolate coating and cheese on top.

They have available drinks like coffees, coolers and local beer:

 

For coffee, try a cup of hot Caramel Macchiato and Choco Peanut Butter Pie for cold coffee drink.

Looking for something refreshing? Try their Ice Fruit Coolers. They also have a cream-based drink and one of them is this Vanilla flavored drink. Very creamy and refreshing. Cab Café also have a local beer which they called as Bog’s Brew beers.

 

If you are not a fan of bitter-taste beers, try their local beer. For something light, they their NPA Beer. Something light in taste with a strong kick? Try their Kawayan Bog’s Brew.

Pocket-friendly price and mostly dishes are perfect for sharing. For a Php 1,000.00 budget, you can already order an appetizer, a pasta dish, a rich dish, a cream-based cold drink, 2 bottles of beer and a dessert.
