Food Review: Mongkok Dimsum and Noodles

Mongkok Dimsum and Noodles has been one of the popular food chains that serves Chinese cuisine here in the Philippines. With its number of branches in different malls, it's not surprising that there are many foodies who are eating on the said restaurant. Of course, as another foodie meet up by Zomato was held in this restaurant last December 2014, it's now my chance to actually taste what Mongkok has to offer!

We ate at Mongkok Dimsum and Noodles branch at Glorietta 2, Makati City. It is actually easy to find. With the capacity of approx. 50 people, people can dine and enjoy the Chinese cuisines Mongkok have at their Glorietta branch. Staffs are very approachable and with very clean restroom inside.

It wouldn't be complete if we will not try the dishes served here at Mongkok! This is not my first time to dine in a Chinese restaurant but this really makes me more excited to discover a restaurant that serves delectable dishes:

Seaweed and Crab Stick Roll

Seaweed and Crab Stick Roll - Looks very similar to Japanese Siomai, but this one is very juicy. The taste of the dish emphasized its very seafood flavor. Price: Php 90.00

Hakaw

Hakaw - It is one of my favorite Chinese dimsum that they offer. This Hakaw is delicious! The shrimp inside is generously served. It is big and tasty. Price: Php 85.00

Mongkok Siomai

Mongkok Siomai - It may taste like a regular Siomai for me but what I love about this is it's actually meaty. Of course for Chinese dimsum lovers, this dimsum should not be missed. Price: Php 90.00

Fried Shrimp Ball

Fried Shrimp Ball - And here it comes, my favorite among all! This fried shrimp ball is a recommended dish to try here at Mongkok. The combination of the crispiness of the batter plus the softness of the shrimp makes this dish a favorite. It's saltiness is good and it's not oily. Price: Php 90.00

Chicken and Egg Soup

Chicken and Egg Soup - Perfect soup to order. Although for me the taste of the dish is more on the egg side, I must say that this soup got a rich flavor in it. Also the flavor of the parsley added a kick to this soup. Perfect to eat while it is still hot. Price: Php 160.00

Shrimp Asparagus

Shrimp Asparagus - If you are looking for a saute dish, this shrimp asparagus if perfect for you. Also been my next favorite from Mongkok. The way asparagus cooked is enough that makes it very tender plus the shrimp and the spicy sauce makes this dish very yummy. Price: Php 290.00

Mongkok Special Fried Rice - Because Pinoys love to eat with rice! It wouldn't be perfect if you will not order their fried rice. There are also other flavors of fried rice that Mongkok also offers. Price: Php 200.00 - Php 280.00

Crispy Pata

Crispy Pata - This very large Crispy Pata here is so crispy! With added chips on the side to make your crispy dish experience at its best. Price: Php 490.00

Seafood Roll

Seafood Roll - Fish meat plus crab stick tied with noodles. This dish is another very juicy and tasty dimsum Mongkok serves. Price: Php 105.00

Seafood with Taosi

Seafood with Taosi - Very rich flavor seafood with taosi. It has a very generous amout of different seafood. Unlike the other dishes with sauce, this dish is more on salty side.

It wouldn't be perfect without trying some of their refreshments and desserts that Mongkok serves!

Fresh Strawberry Shake

Fresh Strawberry Shake - Mongkok serves different drinks. From juices, soft drinks and also fresh fruit shake. Since I really like strawberry shake, I ordered one. And it didn't disappoint me. It maybe too sweet for me but it is refreshing and I like the strawberry and milky flavor of it. Price: Php 90.00

 Mango Puree with Tapioca Balls

Mango Puree with Tapioca Balls - At last, I have found a restaurant with a perfect flavor of this dessert for my taste. It is not too sweet, not too sour, just perfect.
