Actor Spotlight: Jamie Dornan

One of my Hollywood celebrity crush - Jamie Dornan will play the role of Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey Movie. After those big roles in TV series, movies and also at modelling, being in the role of a billionaire CEO and almost in the dreams of thousands of women who read Fifty Shades, it will be a big break to Jamie's career. Let's know more about this shy and beautiful man Jamie Dornan!

Jamie and his family:

James or Jamie Dornan, was born on Holywood, Ireland (a small town near Belfast). He's the son of Laura and Jim Dornan and he has 2 older sisters namely Jessica and Liesa. When he was young he was very fond of playing sports. When he was 16 years old her mother died but Jamie's life doesn't stop there - he grew as a matured man and became closer to his family.

Jamie as a model:

His sister Liesa encouraged him to join to a reality show at London 'Model Behavior' but he didn't won. But his modelling career doesn't stop because after that break he got different modelling offers - especially to known clothing/perfume products.

His biggest modelling break was being the Calvin Klein Model. He drop his school (which he was studying Marketing) and pursued his modelling career.

Jamie's acting career:

In 2006, Jamie Dornan played the role of Count Axel Fersen, the lover of Marie Antoinette in Marie Antoinette movie with Kirsten Dunst as the lead character. Since then, he got different breaks to independent productions like Beyond the Rave, X Returns, Shadows of the Sun, and Nice Meeting You.

In 2011, Jamie got a Major TV role in a TV Series Once Upon A Time. He played the role of a heartless Huntsman and also as Sheriff Graham Humbert. Acting as 2 roles in a TV series was challenging for him but he said it was really fun.

In 2012, he played the lead role in a TV Series The Fall as Paul Spector, a serial killer. Which in his role he happened to kill many women and the setting was on Belfast, Ireland. "This was the best professional thing that's ever happened to me," Jamie said. Being a serial killer as a role is very challenging that he was almost having a hard time to escape to the character and taking a bath is his way to relax.

In 2013, Jamie got married to Amelia Warner, an English actress, singer, and songwriter, as well as a musician who performs under the name Slow Moving Millie. That time also they are expecting to have their first baby. Jamie also got a role in New Worlds as Abe Goffe.

This was also the time that he got the role of Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey. According to his interview at Entertainment Weekly Magazine Issue #1285, "There was a slight fear. But beyond anything else, I was really f---ing excited. I'm a fairly worldly guy. I grew up in a very liberal place. I'm not saying we had a playroom, but I'm not perturbed or shocked by [the sex in the book]. It's essential to tell the story. I can't believe films that don't invoke the sexual side of it. So it works for me."

After seeing the trailer, everyone was excited to see the upcoming movie that will be on theaters on February 2015 (Read Fifty Shades of Grey the Movie on 2015). Others are not pleased to be Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey but many fans of the book were very pleased. "He was perfect as Christian Grey. His looks, his eyes, his hair, his voice, so perfect!" one of the fans who commented on the trailer on YouTube.

Jamie's awards/recognitions:

Jamie Dornan was nominated and won as Best Actor (The Fall) to one of the prestigious awards - Irish Film and Television Awards. He also won the Rising Star Award on the same night, which he brought 2 trophies in his hands. He was also nominated at British Academy Film and Television Awards in London.

Currently he was doing their shooting for the 2nd season of The Fall and also being a father of their baby daughter. We will see Jamie Dornan again at the premier of Fifty Shades of Grey on February 2015.
