iblog - The Philippine Blogging Summit held its 10th year celebration on Malcolm Theater, College of Law, UP Diliman, Quezon City last April 4-5, 2014.
Bloggers from different fields and from different places gathered and listened to the different topics discussed at the event.
I am registered to be at the event for the 2 days. I am not able to go to Day 1 because I woke up too late and I am too far from the event venue. A bit disappointed but excited enough to be part of the Day 2. As I entered the College of Law building, booths of the event's major sponsors were at sight - GMA Network, Vibal Foundation, Sky Cable, PLDT Home and Villar Foundation.
Different agendas were discussed for the Day 2 of the event:
- "The Rise of the Sports Bloggers" from Sir Ivan Stewart Saldajeno
- "Future-Proof Link Building: No Spam, More Juice" from Sir Jayson Bagio
- "Why Doctors and other Professionals should Blog?" from Sir Bien Nillos
- "Bloggers as Entrepreneurs" from Sir Genesis Reonico, Sir Sonnie Santos, and Ma'am, Vanj Padilla
- Sir Howie Severino from GMA Network
- "Crowdsourcing, Social Media, and its Impact on Business"
- "Mentoring Entrepreneurs through Blogging and Social Media" from Sir Christian Blanquera
- "The Present and Future of Internet Regulation" from Atty. JJ Disini
- "The Philippine Internet at 20 years old" from Ma'am Janette Toral
I took down notes for the things I should remember and the essence of being a blogger. Blogging is one way of being a source of information and also can be a source of income too. Also I became knowledgeable about how the journalism become modernize as years passed by. And also being a blogger of your own expertise is a big advantage.
As a personal blogger who loves to share different reviews, experiences and things that I really love to do, being in this summit was a great enlightening on how blogging community is able to give and share different ideas, opinions, and many more. Blogging community is getting strong and many more bloggers are born and become more knowledgeable. Being able to hear the speakers share their experiences and knowledge was a great opportunity for me. I was really happy to be a part of #iblog10.
After that event I promised to myself, if there would be another iblog summit next year, I will surely attend. I wanna hear more and learn more. I am a frustrated writer. And I really love to share the things I do with love. I wanna be part of another year of iblog.
PS:
I won an eco bag from Sky Cable's raffle at their booth and also a 8GB Flash Drive from GMA Network's raffle at their booth too. And also my number at iblog (#46) got picked for the exclusive #iblog10 maroon t-shirt! I was really hoping to have one of those t-shirts and I even tweet about wishing to be picked! I guess I am really lucky that day :D
8GB Flash Drive from GMA Network.
