Review: Banapple at SM North EDSA

A friend of mine encouraged me to try eating at Banapple after he and his officemates tried and had their lunch at the restaurant. He told me that at Banapple, I can enjoy the food and also the price is affordable. So one time, I decided to try it out and yes, he's right! I went recently at Banapple at SM North EDSA and tried some of their dishes.

The Place

One of Banapple's branch is located at The Sky Garden at SM North EDSA. The place is actually big and can accommodate people inside and outside of the restaurant. And because I happened to drop by during dinner, there's a long queue of people and the restaurant is a bit crowded.

The Food

I still enjoyed their dishes even its crowded inside. I am amazed of the large serving size of the food (especially their rice meal). Of course I wouldn't miss the chance to try their cakes because Banapple is also famous for their home-made cakes. Here are the dishes I tried at Banapple:

Baked Fish Gratinee with Scalloped Potatoes

Baked Fish Gratinee with Scalloped Potatoes (Php 215.00) - I really like the combination of white fish plus potatoes. For me, it's absolutely delicious and the sauce brings more taste to the dish and the topped cheese added more texture to it. It is served with seasoned garlic rice.

Trio of Sausages Fettuccine

Trio of Sausages Fettuccine (Php 215.00) - The light flavor of the cream sauce is great plus the combination of 3 kinds of sausages. For me, the flavor of the garlic longganisa stood out the most. A perfect dish to order for some light pasta snack.

Banoffee Pie

Banoffee Pie (Php 115.00/slice) - I wouldn't miss the chance to have a taste of this famous Banoffee Pie! For me, it has a perfect sweetness. I actually brought some for my dad (I didn't able to finish it because the dishes above are already made my stomach full) and he absolutely love it.

Banana Chocolate Peanut Butter and Ripe Mango Smoothies

Banana Chocolate Peanut Butter and Ripe Mango Smoothies (Php 125.00) - Served in a tall glass, these smoothies are absolutely worth the try.

The Price

Though the price of most of their rice dishes and pasta dishes are ranging from Php  150 - Php 300, I must say that it's still affordable for me. Because the serving size per plate of the dishes can actually be shared by 2-3 people, or you alone if you are really hungry. For my personal experience, my friend and I shared the two dishes above and made our stomach full that we didn't even able to finish our dessert (hahaha).

Here's my short video I took when I visited Banapple:

Verdict: 4.0 / 5.0

For those who love to eat heavy Filipino, American and Italian dishes, be sure to try Banapple. I personally would love to come back here and try more of their dishes soon.
